While your friends and family will tend to tell you how great your work is, regardless of whether that really is the case, most people around you just lack the knowledge and understanding of art in order to give you any sort of feedback that has real meaning and that will enable you to grow as an artist. Because of this, many artists feel like they operate in a sort of a vacuum.
